The Forest, Agriculture and Commodity Trade (FACT) Dialogue Secretariat prepared a collection of case studies to showcase how national programmes can make deforestation-free value chains work for smallholders. The case studies, identified by FACT member countries themselves, range from multistakeholder commodity platforms and blockchain-based traceability tools to open-source digital public infrastructure and productive forests through agroforestry-based restoration of degraded landscapes. Based on experiences shared by FACT membership during previous in-person Forums and online meetings of the Dialogue, these case studies aim to highlight positive national examples that can inspire others and inform policy processes, while fostering knowledge exchange and encouraging dialogue towards decoupling forest and agricultural commodity chains from deforestation, and leave no one behind.
