FACT DIALOGUE at COP 30: 5 years of the FACT Dialogue – Catalysing Sustainable Commodity Trade for Climate, Nature and Livelihood

This event will be the opportunity to launch the FACT Progress eport 2025 and take stock of the past five years of the FACT Dialogue, highlighting collective progress toward transparency, traceability, and smallholder inclusion. It will also showcase national examples, including Malaysia’s leadership in advancing sustainability in the palm oil sector through the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) journey, from compliance to global recognition while situating these national efforts within the broader context of international collaboration under the FACT Dialogue.

Participants will hear insights from the UK and Malaysia as FACT Dialogue Co-Chairs, the Secretariat’s presentation on the Dialogue’s ongoing work, and the release of key knowledge products, including the country case studies and the Traceability and Transparency (T&T) Paper. The discussions will further explore how producer and consumer countries can jointly accelerate the transition toward deforestation-free supply chains while maintaining fair market access for smallholders.

Through keynote addresses, presentations, and a high-level panel discussion featuring perspectives from governments, the private sector, and research institutions, this session will provide actionable insights into aligning national initiatives with global sustainability goals.
